get help with PowerPoint

Many people don't give the design of their presentations a second thought — after all, it's the content that counts. But a well-designed PowerPoint presentation is a lot like a crisp business suit — it does say a lot about you, communicating seriousness, clarity of thought, and professionalism. But while PowerPoint seems easy, unless your already a guru, it can eat up a lot of your time — time that would be better spent developing your message.

Liquidambar can simplify this process, providing you with a professionally designed presentation and the time to develop and hone that most important part - your message.

Liquidambar can:
  • Create slides from your hand-drawn originals — so you don't even have to touch PowerPoint
  • Create a template customized for your business and brand, or if your company already has templates, ensure that your presentation conforms to your company's brand guidelines and/or style sheets
  • Clean up "borrowed" slides — everyone reuses slides from time to time - Liquidambar can clean up and/or recreate these "hand-me-downs" so that they match your presentation
  • Embed tables or charts from Excel or rebuild them in PowerPoint if necessary
  • Correct printing problems that happen when color slides are printed in black & white (like those annoying black lines and boxes or text that suddenly appears or disappears)
  • Create tasteful animations that don't overwhelm the viewer
  • String together separate PowerPoint presentations seamlessly — even if they are using different tempaltes and colors schemes, so your multi-presenter presentation is never disrupted by trips to the desktop
  • Help you find appropriate stock photography or clip art that stays within your price range
  • Proofread your presentation for typos and grammar errors

Tips for a great presentation
  • Keep slides light; don't pack too much information on one slide — if your viewers need access to complicated data, give them separate hand-outs instead
  • Go easy on the animation — too much can be distracting; use animation sparingly for emphasis or to control the flow of information, as in a quiz for example
  • Keep fonts legible — 8pt fonts are too small for most people to read when projected. If you must use small size fonts, use a font that is sans serif like Arial or Helvetica instead of Times New Roman or Garamond
  • Avoid 3D charts if your data is complex — they can look nice, but don't sacrifice clarity
  • Be consistent in your placement of footnotes and sources
  • Always use master slides — this can make all the difference if you ever have to change something globally later
  • And finally... when it really counts, hire a professional to help ensure the quality of your design
That's what we're here for!
